My name is Andy Kuo.
I was born in Taiwan, but raised in Toronto, Ontario. I am currently attempting to attain my bachelor’s degree in Illustration at Sheridan College Institute of Technology in Oakville, Ontario. I also attained an Art Fundamentals certificate from the aforementioned college.
As a youth I had very little interest in the arts and I loved to watch movies and animations, and play games. At the time I had little to no idea how much that would’ve affected me in the future. It wasn’t until my 11th grade that began to consider a career in media and the arts. By my 12th year in high school I had a high technical proficiency with computer applications, but dirt poor drawing skills. I realized I had to seek help, so I enlisted the help of a Chinese sculptor/painter. Through 4-5 hour sessions, 3 days a week, the principles of art, and design were drilled into my brain. 1 year later I applied for the Bachelor of Applied Arts (Illustration) at Sheridan College, and was accepted through the basis of my portfolio evaluation. Through the program I was exposed to many forms of art, as well as famous painters and, artists, such as Rockwell, Sargent, Dali, and many more. My knowledge and techniques were further expanded.
Now I am in the second year of my program…Let’s see how far I go. I am currently graduated as of the end of 2011
